CTD kills Daesh ‘terrorist’ near Murree

A suspected terrorist belonging to the notorious banned religious outfit Daesh, was killed in an encounter on Friday while his two accomplices fled in an operation by the counter terrorism department (CTD).

CTD officials raided the hideout of the terrorists on an intelligence report during which a suspected militant was killed.

Two CTD officials were also injured. A spokesperson for the CTD disclosed that terrorists opened fire at the Counter-Terrorism Department officials and also hurled hand grenades at them.

The alleged militant, who has been identified as Ahsan Swati, was killed by the firing of his associates.

Bullets, pistols, rifles and IEDs were recovered from the suspected slain militant.

According to the CTD, the terrorists were involved in an attack on I-9 Police post in which police officials were killed and an attack on a media house in Islamabad in 2015, the CTD said.

This time also, they were planning to attack another media house.
