With the first, large shipment of Chinese goods finally arriving to Gwadar from China, the dream of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) materialises into reality. Despite criticism by the opponents, both the CPEC and the Gwadar port are operational now and mark the beginning of heydays of Pakistan. The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a $46 billion project that encompasses a series of infrastructure, energy and transport projects which has been initiated by China and Pakistan in 2014 and is a major part of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. It is hoped that CPEC would not only help strengthen Pakistan’s economy but also integrate several regions into an economic zone and offer great opportunities to people living in these regions as well as to investors from across the world.
