A policeman along with his accomplices was taken into custody for alleged involvement in kidnapping for ransom, in the wee hours of Thursday.
According to details, as many as nine people, along with the police personnel were taken into custody.
Two notorious criminals were killed in a police encounter while 11 others including a woman were apprehended with arms and drugs here on Thursday.
SSP Gulshan, Dr Fahad said that on a tip-off regarding presence of outlaws, the police conducted the operation in Karanal Bast of PIB Colony in Karachi.
The criminals hiding in the area offered resistance which led to an encounter in which two notorious criminals belonging to notorious drugs peddler gang “Darwaish” and identified as Zia alias Pathan and Adnan alias Laqwa were killed. Arms were recovered from the possession of the criminals killed in the fire exchange.
