Hurriyat leaders plan massive week-long protests in IoK

The Hurriyat leaders have announced an extensive programme of protests in order to accentuate the cause of Kashmir’s freedom and protest the Indian forces brutalities in IoK.

All the protesters today (Friday) will march towards their respective district headquarters in Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Budgam, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, and Islamabad and after Friday prayers a ‘Freedom Congregation’ will be held at the place identified and agreed upon by local resistance leaders, masjid Committees, youth volunteers of respective districts who’ll coordinate & ensure the arrangements.

On November 19 (Saturday), the people have been requested to use exclusively public transport on these days for the support of transport community. They are further advised as a social and community responsibility to encourage their family and friends as well. All vehicles are advised to hoist black flags as a mark of protest.

The protesters from all over the Jammu & Kashmir will again march to their respective district headquarters on Sunday (November 20). On Tuesday (November 22) to commemorate Women’s Day, protesters will assemble & occupy local chowks and centres from Zohr to Asr in the vicinity of their mohallas, villages and localities while holding flags, placards and banners with messages and slogans written on them. On Wednesday (November 23) freedom marches will be held in Mawer Qalamabad, Narwav, Nowgam, Surasyar, Doderhama-Beehama, Batmaloo, Karimabad, Kanji Ullar, Redwani, Breng from 7 am, protesters will march from Kupwara to Mawer Qalamabad, Baramulla to Narwav, Bandipora to Nowgam, Budgam to Surasyar, Ganderbal to Doderhama-Beehama, Srinagar to Batmaloo, Pulwama to Karimabad, Shopian to Kanji Ullar, Kulgam to Redwani and Islamabad to Breng. After Zohr prayers, they would hold ‘Freedom Congregation’ at key places with the help of masjid committees and youth volunteers.

The week-long protests will conclude on Thursday (November 24) with Azadi Convention & Solidarity with LoC March from Azad Kashmir while the neighbouring villages and localities would organize Azadi Convention from 11am to 4pm in their respective areas. Shutdown across Jammu & Kashmir would be observed on all days except for the relaxation mentioned in the programme.
