SHC seeks Sindh Building Control Authority’s comments on illegal construction

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought comments from the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), and others on a petition filed by a citizen against the alleged construction of a high-rise building in a residential area.

Headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar, the SHC bench also the directed the SBCA and the builder to produce the approved plan in the next hearing.

The bench was hearing the petition filed by the citizen who moved the court against the builders, Noor Muhammad and Muhammad Haroon, who were allegedly continuing construction without the permission of SBCA.

The petitioner submitted that the builders were raising a six-floor building on a plot in Bihar Colony, Lyari Town which was in violation of the approved plan, relevant rules, and regulations.

The court was requested to direct the authorities to restrain the builder and to demolish illegal parts of the building.

The court issued notices to the advocate general Sindh, SBCA, and the builders, directing them to file their respective comments by 30th November.
