316 buildings sealed, over Rs0.7m fine imposed on violation of Dengue Larva SOPs

The Rawalpindi district administration has sealed around 316 buildings including tyre shops and junkyards, while slapping a fine of over Rs0.7 million for violating Dengue Larva SOPs, during raids conducted in 2016 in various areas.

District Environment Officer Mohammad Azhar has said that the raiding teams conducted raids and checked around 25, 545 buildings including tire shops and junkyards from January till to-date Around 107 owners were served with notices, while FIRs were lodged against 23 owners.

Around 316 buildings were sealed, while around Rs0.745 million fines were slapped as punishment to owners.

He advised that dengue could only be controlled by devising a joint strategy. While citizens are advised to use mosquito-repellent lotion when go outdoors.
