Spare a thought for those in need

I visit SKMCH&RC each Saturday and spend time with the pediatric cancer patients. I try to engage them in arts and crafts activities—anything that will distract their minds from their illness. However, even I myself did not realise the impact these visits have on these patients until one day, a mother told me, “my daughter had had nothing to eat or drink since morning because she was quite distressed. Since you came and played with her, her mood changed and this is the first thing she is drinking in your presence since morning.” I do not have words to describe my feelings. That day I saw the change I made; the change we all can make if we try. I will forever hold close the prayers of that child’s mother and I would encourage others not just to visit the Hospital but also experience the difference they can make in someone else’s life.
