Punjab Agriculture, Food & Drug Agency (PAFDA) is going to establish three state-of-the-art testing laboratories in “Science Enclave” Thokar Niaz Baig Lahore adjacent to the building of Punjab Forensic Science Agency. The most modern equipment for newly established Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides Testing Laboratory, Food Testing Laboratory and Drug Testing Laboratory with a total cost of Rs52 million will be procured during the current fiscal year.
This was disclosed in a meeting headed by Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja on Tuesday at Civil Secretariat, Lahore.
PAFDA Director General Muhammad Ashraf Tahir, who is also holding the slot of Director General Punjab Forensic Science Agency, briefed the meeting about the progress in establishment of the new Science Enclave.
ACS Punjab directed the concerned officers of Infrastructure Development Authority to prepare PC-I for procurement of laboratory equipment costing Rs52 million at the earliest so that after the approval from Provincial Cabinet, the required amount could be released by Planning & Development Board which will prepare the most excellent forensic scientists to deliver in these laboratories.
