The provincial government is considering a ban on protests on Shahrah-e-Quaid e Azam, commonly known as Mall Road.
A statement released on Sunday by the Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said that this ban is being considered keeping in mind the inconvenience caused to the public because of sit-ins which block the flow of traffic.
The minister’s remarks came a day after the Young Doctors Association (YDA) ended their sit-in protest on Mall Road after successful negotiations with the Mayo Hospital administration.
The flow of traffic on main roads in the provincial capital was greatly affected due to the demonstration.
