Melania Trump, wife of US president-elect Donald Trump thanked the American people on Saturday for electing her husband Barack Obama to the office of the President of the United States of America.
“This is indeed a historic event,” she said. “As I speak to you on this chilly morning on the 17th of November, 2008, my husband, Barack Obama has already met President George W Bush to prepare for the transition of power and become the first African-American president of the United States of America!”
“Growing up on the south side of Chicago as two black children from a blue-collar family,” continued Melania Trump, “my brother Greg and I were raised by conscientious and loving parents who told us we could be whatever we wanted to be.”
“I can only hope Barack and I can instil in our daughters Sasha and Malia the same optimism,” continued the soon-to-be-first lady. “Though it would be easier because they have seen their father overcome prejudice to be elected to the highest office of the land!”
“A big shout-out to our supporters from me, Michelle Obama, and God bless these United States,” concluded Mrs Trump.
