MNA Ayaz Soomro refutes PML-N’s allegations

PPP MNA and Sindh’s former minister Ayaz Soomro has refuted the allegations of PML-Nawaz government that every MNA was given Rs 10 million by the federal government and Rs 20 million by Sindh government once in a year for development works but they were not spending this huge amount for the welfare of their respective constituencies.

He said, in a press release issued here on Wednesday, that PML-N MNAs were allocated Rs 50 to Rs 60 million annually which was, what he termed, step-motherly treatment by the Center with the elected representatives of Sindh. He said the PPP MNAs were also citizens of Pakistan and they have also their constituencies but the treatment meted out with them was discriminatory.

Soomro claimed that during the last PPP regime when Asif Ali Zardari was the president and Syed Yousif Raza Gilani was the prime minister, Nawaz League MNAs were given Rs 60 to Rs 70 million yearly for carrying out development works in their respective areas and asked then why this highhandedness with the PP MNAs.

He said that some news has appeared in a section of the press that PPP MNAs have not been able to spend allocated money which was unfounded, fabricated and contrary to the facts. Soomro said that amount has not been released to them so far then the question of spending it did not arise. Ayaz Soomro said that they prepared their schemes eight months ago and submitted to the Larkana deputy commissioner for onward transmission to the concerned departments but not a single rupee has been released so far.

Ayaz Soomro further said that wrong propaganda has been made against People’s Party MNAs due to which their reputation has been badly affected.
