Republican Donald Trump stunned the world by defeating heavily favoured Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s presidential election, ending eight years of Democratic rule and sending the United States on a new, uncertain path.
A wealthy real-estate developer and former reality TV host, Trump rode a wave of anger toward Washington insiders to win the White House race against Clinton, the Democratic candidate whose gold-plated establishment resume includes stints as a first lady, US senator and secretary of state.

Following the rituals such as the swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol and the inaugural address to the American people on January 20, the president will take part in an inaugural luncheon, inaugural parade and inaugural ball as per tradition.
However, Trump has also vowed to put plenty of other things on his schedule for the first day in office. Trump plans to launch the construction of “an impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, Southern border wall,” scratching “every unconstitutional executive order” issued by the White House. Trump also plans to halt the admittance of Syrian refugees in the United States “immediately.”
Trump has also promised to deport illegal immigrants and those who have committed crimes — and whom he refers to as “criminal aliens.”
“Day One, my first hour in office, those people are gone,” Trump told a crowd in Phoenix on August 31, following a meeting with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
“And you can call it deported if you want, the press doesn’t like that term. You can call it whatever the hell you want, they’re gone.”
On January 7, in Burlington, Trump also promised to end gun-free zones in schools and military bases. “You know what a gun-free zone is a sicko?” “That’s bait,” he said. “My first day, it gets signed, okay? My first day. There’re no more gun-free zones.”
