Karachi operation to continue till complete restoration of peace: COAS

 

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday vowed that law-enforcement agencies and the Sindh government would continue to strive till the complete restoration of peace for common citizen of Karachi.

The army chief said this during his visit to Corps Headquarters Karachi where attended the ongoing exercise “Resilient Response” of Southern Command, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The COAS was briefed in detail about the conduct and conclusions of the exercise encompassing both defensive and offensive operations.

Talking to the participants, General Raheel expressed his complete satisfaction over enhanced battle worthiness and operational preparedness of formations.

Later, the army chief presided over a security conference which was attended by the corps commander, Director General ISI, DGMI, DGMO and DG Rangers.

Appreciating the accomplishments of security forces and intelligence agencies for improved law and order situation in the city, the COAS directed to continue focused operations in conjunction with other LEAs and the provincial government for complete restoration of peace for common citizen of Karachi.
