Justice (Retd) Saeed uz Zaman will be made the new governor for Sindh putting an end to a 13-year-long rule of the current governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad, according to media reports on Wednesday.

Zaman has also remained the Chief Justice of Pakistan. During the former dictator General (R) Pervez Musharraf’s rule, Zaman had refused to take oath under the Provisional Constitutional Order (PCO).

In 2008, he was presidential candidate from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

The current governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad has stirred controversy after former Karachi mayor and Pak Sarzameen Party chief Mustafa Kamal hurled corruption allegations at him. Calling him ‘Rishwat ul Ebad’ in a fiery press talk on October 17, he demanded that he should be placed on the Exit Control List.

  1. The end of the longest term in Office of Governor in Pakistan history ( Dr Ishratul Ebad was Governor Sind for 14 long years) but has become controversial after differences developed with PSP leader Mustafa Kamaal. Although both are from Altaf Hussain's MQM. He was a soft spoken man for long but was behaving like a low political leader once MK stuffed him with corruption charges. The man who replaces him, Justice Saeeduz-Zaman-Siddiqui is a man of integrity and high reputation. Hope the province will benefit with his appointment.
