Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday, taking notice of prevailing smog in urban areas of the country, directed the concerned departments to take long-term steps to control the environmental hazard.
The premier directed the Transport Departments to ensure reduction of vehicular emissions through strict inspection.
He asked the provincial forestry departments to fast-track plantation in urban areas under Green Pakistan Programme for carbon reduction.
The Prime Minister’s focal person will liaison with the concerned departments for compliance.
