Pakistan summons Indian Deputy HC to protest ceasefire violations

Pakistan on Tuesday summoned the Deputy High Commissioner of India to register its protest and strong condemnation over the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces on the Line of Control on November 7, that resulted into martyrdom of three civilians.

“The Director General (SA & SAARC), Dr. Mohammad Faisal, summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. J.P. Singh, today (8 November 2016) and strongly condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations on 7 November 2016, by the Indian Forces on the LoC in Nikial and Jandrot sectors, resulting in shahadat of 3 civilians, including a woman and injuries to four others, including a 5 years old boy,” a Foreign Office statement issued here said.

“The Director General urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding; investigate the continued incidents of ceasefire violations; instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit, stop targeting the villages and civilians and maintain peace on the LoC,” the statement added.
