Imran’s actions always benefited Nawaz Sharif: Khursheed Shah

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s action always ended up benefiting the prime minister.

Talking to media in his chamber at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Tuesday, Khursheed Shah said that when the PTI workers were being thrashed on the streets, its chief was sleeping in his luxurious residence of Bani Gala.

In a jibe at PTI, he said that his party was not created by an ‘Asha Pasha’. He claimed that a verdict on the Panama Leaks case would not come in 20 days. The government wanted to delay the Panama Leaks issue, he said.

He said that Imran Khan was an easy opponent for Nawaz Sharif, but it was not easy for the government to ignore the Pakistan People’s Party. He said the PPP would fight the case in the parliament.

Khursheed Shah said that Imran Khan was in the habit of backing out from his statements which was considered dangerous in politics as “this practice disappoints workers who keep great expectations from their leaders.” “We always talk about the Parliament as the PPP believes that all the decisions should be made in the Parliament which is a prestigious institution of the country,” the PPP leader added.

Shah called a commission of the Dawn story leak an eyewash adding that if the government was serious it would have asked names of judges from the opposition.

The government asked the information minister to resign showing that the leak was their fault, he said. The information was confirmed by a senior minister.

He added that according to tradition the names of the next army chief are sent by the October 15 but no names had been shortlisted yet. “The government is clever and so is not facing the real opposition.”
