A five-member Pakistan contingent will be flying to Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday (today) to participate in the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship scheduled to be held from November 8 to 15.
Talking to APP, Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) Vice-President Muhammad Rashid Malik said as many as 19 countries will participate in the championship including Pakistan, Japan, Korea, Iran, Uzbekistan and China.”
“The five-member Pakistan contingent includes three weightlifters and two officials,” he said.
“The three-member Pakistan team to participate in the event includes Talha Talib (62kg), Farhan Ahmed (72kg) and Muhammad Nooh Dastagir Butt (105kg),” Malik added.
The officials that will accompany the team will be PWF Secretary Muhammad Amin Butt (team manager) and Irfan Butt (coach).
