Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday said that a committee would be formed which would inquire whether the polemic news published in an English newspaper was leaked or cooked up.
Talking to media in Faisalabad, the Punjab Law minister said that it has been proved that the news story was with Dawn journalist Cyril Almeida initially and not with Pervaiz Rashid.
Sanaullah said that the committee, to probe the matter, will be formed till Monday (today). The committee would be headed by a retired judge and would have all officers from all the agencies, he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman Naeemul Haque expressed reservations over the appointment of a retired judge as head of the committee inquiring the “planted story” published by English newspaper Dawn. He said that a judge should be appointed by the chief justice of Pakistan.
