Effective use of resources to be ensured for eradicating crime: SSP

Every official of Islamabad police should ensure effective use of official resources and devise comprehensive strategies to eradicate crime, says Sajid Kiani SSP (Operations).

This was stated Kiani while he chaired a meeting at Rescue 15 attended by SP (City) Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, SP (Saddar)  Zeeshan Haider, Sub-Divisional Police Officers, DSPs, Security, CIA and Station House Officers (SHOs) of all police stations in capital.

The SSP directed those present to ensure the arrest of criminals involved in heinous acts of crime with the effective use of official resources at their disposal, and that they would have to face strict disciplinary action if their performance proved poor.

He said disciplinary action would be initiated against police officials and any SHO found in the habit of sluggishness in the resolutions of public complaints.

Sajid Kiani said policing should be made more objective and various steps like patrolling should be made more effective.

He directed all SHOs to launch a massive crackdown against proclaimed offenders and those involved in criminal activities in their respective areas.

He said an effective strategy was needed to control crime and also ordered the adoption of a professional and responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

He directed the police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints, and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens besides inculcating friendly police ecology in the city.

He directed all SHOs to curb street crime, especially bike as well car lifting.

He said police officials responsible in delaying the registration of cases and doing sluggish investigation or corruption would not be spared and strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.

Kiani also directed all police officials performing duties at police stations to improve their performance and address the grievances of the masses immediately and on a merit basis to win the confidence and support of the people for the cops’ department.
