Rumours floating in suggesting Ram Gopal Varma was keen that Fawad Khan plays the role of Subhash Nagre’s (played by Amitabh Bachchan) grandson in Sarkar 3.
Sarkar is a Godfather-inspired crime thriller series starring Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role. Abhishek Bachchan and Kay Kay Menon play his sons in the series, and it’s said that Fawad was being roped in to play Big B’s grandson. Not sure whose kid he was supposed to be, though!
However, according to a report on Mid-Day, in the light of the recent controversy involving Pakistani artistes, RGV reluctantly had to drop him from the movie.
An informal ban on Pakistani artists is currently in place in India in response to attacks in Uri, Kashmir in late September.
Although rumours say that Fawad had verbally committed to the role, director Ram Gopal Verma ended up casting Sultan actor Amit Sadh in his place.
