CDA decides to lease a plot to ITP, hire consultant firm for Sector C-14, C-15

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in its 3rd board meeting under the supervision of mayor and chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser leased out plot to Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), gave extension to Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and approved the appointments of consultant firm for the development of sector C-14 and C-15.

The meeting was held in chairman’s office on Friday with 5 board members including the chairman. According to CDA by-laws, the board meeting must have 3 permanent members. However, CDA was running with 1 permanent member finance who was appointed by the federal government.

In a board meeting, the chairman deferred to lease out the plot to attorney general near national library due to poor planning.  A 4.2 acre plot was leased out to the ITP opposite side of policeline Islamabad.

It is worth mentioning here that the ITP office was running in the green belt of sector F-8 and after the verdict of Supreme Court and directions to seal every premises being used for commercial purposes in residential areas. The Building Control Section (BCS) of the CDA issued 3 notices to the ITP administration to move their office from green belt; finally they were moved to commercial area.

The 5 member board decided to abolish the post of member environment of grade 20, as the whole wing had already been transferred to Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), and there was no purpose for it.

However, the Human Resource Department (HRD) proposed the summary to abolish three main posts of environment wing.

The plot along with Silver Oaks in F-10 also came under CDA occupation after a long time court case concluded and would be auctioned soon.

It was purposed to the board for the approval to make a Katchi Abadi directorate rather than Cell, but it was deferred by the competent authorities.

The board also rejected the restoration of 2 plots which were sealed by the BCS over commercial usage. According to the CDA by-laws, once the plot was sealed, the lease would also expire and approval of competent authorities would be needed to restore them.

Sheikh Anser, when contacted, said that the restoration of sealed plots were not approved, “The authority is working to make some general laws which will be implemented in each case to avoid favouritism and nepotism,” he said.
