The fire that erupted in an oil tanker being broken up for scrap at the Gadani ship-breaking yard could not be extinguished on the third day.
Police have arrested the ship’s owner Abdul Ghafoor’s foreman for the investigation of worker’s duties.
Meanwhile, an Edhi volunteer fainted during the rescue activities and was immediately shifted to hospital for medical aid.
Gadani ship-breaking yard caught fire on Tuesday as a result of which at least 19 people were killed and 65 sustained wounds.
Moreover, more than 50 workers went missing after explosions.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed his “deep grief and sorrow” over the incident, according to a statement by his office.
