Passengers face immense problems due to track closure

Passengers of all down trains that were stopped at Jungshahi and other railway stations, faced immense problems in reaching Karachi, following crash of two trains near Landhi, Karachi on Thursday morning

As per details, thousands of families travelling in different passengers trains were stranded at different railway stations including Jungshahi, following collusion between Zakaria Express and Fareed Express at Jumma Goth railway station Karachi.

The relatives, from Karachi, of the stranded families rushed to different small stations to help their families reaching Karachi. Due to very poor road infrastructure and pathetic negligence of Pakistan Railways and Sindh government to provide assistance to the distressed passengers, people had faced immense problems.

Almost all private cars, vans and other vehicles in Gharo, Jungshahi and other nearby towns were booked by the relatives of the stranded passengers. Hundreds of families somehow managed to reach Thatta from where they found some sort of transport to reach Karachi.

Many passengers coming from Punjab expressed dismay on poor response at government level in Sindh. They said in cases of such disasters the response of the Punjab government was much better. They also criticised very slow rescue and relief activities of the Pakistan Railways and demanded of the prime minister and federal railway minister to take notice of them.
