State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday announced that the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $24,189.3 million on October 28, 2016. The break-up of the foreign reserves is as under:
Foreign reserves held by SBP were recorded at $19,130.5 million; Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks reached $5,058.8 million, and total liquid foreign reserves stood at $24,189.3 million.
During the week ending in October, the country’s total reserves decreased by $138 million to $24,189 million. The decrease in reserves was due to external debt servicing and other official payments.
