Air Chief Sohail Aman meets his Chinese counterpart

Chief of the Air Staff Marshal Sohail Aman had a meeting with General Ma Xiaotian, commander of the Chinese PLA Air Force in Chinese City Zhuhai and discussed areas of bilateral interests.

Gen Ma Xiaotian reiterated strong desire of his country to further deepen their relationship with Pakistan in the field of defence production. He expressed satisfaction over the growing partnership in building up their air force capabilities.

Sohail Aman noted that in recent years, the Chinese Air Force has made great progress in its modernization drive, and China adhered to the idea of mutual respect and coordination and played an important role in maintaining world peace and development. Pakistan, he added, wished to take full advantage of Chinese rich potential in the air force sector.

The Air chief visited the 11th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, south China’s Guangdong Province.

Ma Xiaotian said that this year marked the 67th anniversary of the establishment of PLA Air Force, which has developed into a strategic service with multiple arms including aviation force, ground air defense force and airborne force and plays an important role in safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests.

The Chinese Air Force and the world’s air forces have conducted extensive cooperation in areas of joint exercises and operational training, Ma said. As the air force of a responsible major developing country, the PLA Air Force will be more open, pragmatic and cooperative in carrying out communication and cooperation with air forces of other countries and commonly taking international responsibilities, he added.
