Marriyum sworn in as state minister, calls on president

President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday administered the oath to Member National Assembly Marriyum Aurangzeb as Minister of State in a special ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, CADD Minister of State Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Privatization Commission Minister of State/Chairman Muhammad Zubair, members of the parliament and senior government officials also attended the oath-taking ceremony, which was conducted entirely in Urdu language. Marriyum Aurangzeb, after taking oath, called on President Mamnoon Hussain.

Congratulating the minister, the president expressed the hope that she would utilize all her capabilities to serve the country and the nation.

The president said it was responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to inform the people about government policies. He said Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and other broadcasting institutions should jointly frame code of conduct, so that instead of sensationalism, reliable and correct news could reach the people.
