Actor Michael Douglas claims that his friend Val Kilmer is battling cancer despite the star’s previous denials.
Michael, who himself defeated stage four tongue cancer in 2013, also went on to say that things ‘don’t look too good’ for the Batman star.
The 72-year old star was having a Q&A with Jonathan Ross when he shared the news. He was asked about the time he spent with Val while starring in the 1996 film The Ghost And The Darkness, to which the actor replied that he had a wonderful time with Kilmer.
“Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him. My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately”, he was quoted as saying by Daily Star.
The Hollywood legend sparked health fears last year when he was pictured wearing what appeared to be a tracheotomy tube around his neck.
The 56-year-old then denied having throat cancer, saying he had undergone an undisclosed procedure which left ‘swelling’.
The “Batman” actor had previously denied that he was ill in January 2015, after news circulated that he began bleeding from the throat. Rumours again circulated in October 2015 that a tumour had been spotted after a visit to the UCLA Medical Centre.
“Thank you all for your love and support,” stated Kilmer in a Facebook post. “There’s a rumour I’m unwell again and in the hospital which is totally untrue. I was in to verify I have no tumour or infection of any kind which was verified by the very caring experts at UCLA.”
In February 2016, the actor shared a few pictures on social media where he was seen without any medical device. However, he is yet to make a statement on his illness.
