Islamabad police announce parking plan for Nov 2

Islamabad Traffic Police has issued traffic plan for November 2 for the participants of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s sit-in at Parade Ground.

Those coming from Peshawar will reach the venue by travelling through Kashmir Highway, Education Chowk, and Beaconhouse, after parking their cars on service road I-8.

Those coming from Lahore will come through Expressway and park their cars in Parade Ground parking area. Those coming from Bara Kahu will park their vehicles at Chand Tara Chowk, Shakar Parian.

ICT police have also chalked out diversion points for smooth flow of traffic and those travelling from Expressway to Islamabad are advised to take the road to Khana Pull, Taramri Chowk and then to Rawal Dam Road. Those travelling from Islamabad to Murree are advised to use Park Road and Khana Pull. Those travelling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad are advised to use 9th Avenue. IJP Road, Peshawar Morr and Kashmir Highway, while residents willing to travel from Islamabad and Rawalpindi can use Faisal Avenue, Jinnah Avenue, F-8 Exchange and 9th Avenue.

POLICE PERSONNEL GET PROMOTION FOR HANDLING PTI PROTEST:

To appreciate the ‘good performance’ of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police and crackdown on PTI leader and workers, the interior ministry on Tuesday issued the notification for the up-gradation of entire police officials of BS-05 to BS-09 of the federal capital.

The interior ministry approved the up-gradation of various posts after the approval of finance division, framing of recruitment rules and filing up the up-graded posts in the manner prescribed in this division. The constable of grade BS-05 is up-graded to BS-07, head constable of grade BS-07 to BS-09 and assistant sub-inspectors (ASI) from grade BS-09 to BS-11.

17 police officials, 11 from Rawalpindi and 6 from Islamabad including 2 female officers got injured by the retaliation of PTI workers during 6 days in Bani Gala, Lal Haveli and Burhan Interchange.

Along with the batons and sticks, 30,000 tear gas shells and rubber bullets were given to law enforcement forces out of which only 5,000 were used. The Islamabad police was given 10,000 tear shells and rubber bullets out of which only 1,500 were used on political workers.
