Hurriyet leaders, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, Zamruda Habib and Javaid Ahmad Mir, in occupied Kashmir, have denounced the continued arrest spree and described it as the worst type of human rights violation and frustration of the authorities.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the people of Kashmir had been giving unprecedented sacrifices for last seven decades which would not go waste.
He said that Pakistan had always expressed willingness to settle the dispute but India always expressed stubbornness and created impediments in its resolution. He urged New Delhi to shun its rigidity and stubbornness and come forward to settle it in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.
Javaid Ahmad Mir in his statement issued in Srinagar said that the puppet administration in the territory was arresting innocent people, especially youth. He said in last three months thousands of innocent Kashmiris have been sent behind the bars. He said instead of harassing Kashmiris the Indian government should take concrete steps for settlement of Kashmir dispute.
Zamaruda Hahib in her statement issued in Srinagar said that the sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir would not go waste. She said that the day was not far when the Kashmiri people would get rid of Indian bondages.
