6 Kalashnikovs, tear gas shells, alcohol recovered from PTI leader’s car

Islamabad police on Sunday recovered six Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, alcohol and tear gas shells from PTI leader Amin Gandapur’s car.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Amin Gandapur rejected police claims, saying he was travelling with licensed weapons and that there was a license present in the car. He alleged that he only had two Kalashnikovs. The PTI leader claimed the police let him go.

According to reports, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s car was stopped at a checkpost and searched. The car was impounded, while Gandapur escaped. The police claimed to recover arms and ammunition from his possession.

Several bulletproof vests, one teargas firing gun, two SMGs, one hand gun, several bullets and a bottle of alcohol were recovered from Gandapur’s vehicle, sources said. The K-P minister was trying to reach Bani Gala along with a number of PTI activists who clashed with police before several of them were detained. Later, Gandapur arrived at Bani Gala.

In Samaa’s Nadeem Malik programme, Gandapur said that there were bottles of honey and not of the whiskey in his vehicle.
