After images and videos of a scuffle between a female activist of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and a policewoman went viral, a newer video has also started during the rounds, explaining the episode from the policewoman’s perspective.
The police woman narrating her ordeal said that she has been working in Punjab Police for 17 years and was on routine duty on Thursday (October 27) as well.
During the clash between police and PTI workers she saw that a women was going to hit a male police officer with a rock in her hand.
She tried to stop that woman from hitting the policeman with that rock, but she was attacked in return with scratches all over her face.
It was part of my duty and that was how she treated me, she said, and I did not assault her as you can see she had no injuries or scratches anywhere on her body.
Being a policewoman it was part of my duty to implement the writ of state, and that women was not only violating that writ (article-144) but was also trying to hit my colleague with a rock.
She lamented that her act is being labelled as violence, and asked how does a uniform make her a lesser woman than other women. “As a woman, I qualify for the same rights as any other non-uniform women and I deserve equal rights,” she added.
PTI crowd comprises hooligans who would fall down to any level. Imran Khan, a former cricketer, attracts young blood and takes undue advantage of them. Last winter he asked his followers to stop paying taxes and utilities' bills and observe civil disobedience. Any other leader would have been hanged for uttering such non-sense.
