Security czar Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday announced a cash prize of Rs50,000 for assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Farzana of the Islamabad Police for her displaying commendable professional behaviour during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest called by PTI chief Imran Khan in the federal capital on Thursday.
ASI Farzana was also awarded with a certificate of commendation by the interior minister for the professional she displayed during the incident
The ASI suffered minor bruises in the performance of her duties, during a scuffle between the PTI workers and police in Islamabad on Thursday.
PTI workers have been alleging before the press that Farzana had assaulted a female PTI worker.
Farzana in a video message released Saturday, gave her picture of the story: “a female worker of PTI was trying to hit male police officers with a big stone when I tried to stop her. She attacked me and gave me bruises on my face and neck.”
“If I had not stopped her from throwing that stone, she would have injured someone,” she maintained.
The PTI worker, Seemabia Tahir, when restrained from further fighting with the lady ASI, was captured on video saying: “I am daughter of an army officer, you will bear the consequences, and you will remember that you messed with a PTI supporter.”
In another video message released today, Seemabia Tahir said it was unfair to blame her for assaulting the police officer, as all she had done was in self defence.
