Imran could’ve averted his arrest by leading procession from Peshawar: Aitzaz

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said that he had advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to go to Peshawar to lead a protest rally.

Speaking to media, he said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan should have gone to Peshawar and returned to Islamabad leading a procession. I had advised him to go to Peshawar, he said. Had Imran Khan gone to Peshawar he could have averted his arrest, he added.

He was of the opinion that the PTI should learn from MRD movement. He said that the PTI leadership thinks that party workers will come out of homes if it is arrested.  We knew it well that situation would end up like this, he maintained.

According to Aitzaz, activists will not come out of their home if the leadership is arrested. He asked how protests can be right for Nawaz Sharif and wrong for others.
