Police’s indiscriminate shelling in Rawalpindi kills newborn

A 3-day-old boy lost his life in his home in Liaqatabad due to indiscriminate use of tear gas shells against protesters in Rawalpindi.

The child was rushed to Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi after he stopped breathing and became unresponsive.

The doctor diagnosed the cause of death as, “tear gas and shelling in area close to the house” and mentioned on the discharge slip that the child had died while at home.

The parents and the local police were unavailable for comments.
