Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Thursday (today) alluded to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan as being ‘more harmful’ than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan’s peace and prosperity.

Addressing a seminar, Shahbaz said the people of Pakistan should know by now who the real enemy to the country’s progress is.

“It’s not Modi or any foreign agent, it’s those who believe in negative politics and want to shut down the capital,” he said.

The chief minister said Imran Khan wants to shut down Islamabad which would hinder the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. He said that the PTI leader, not any foreign agent, was responsible for the postponement of Chinese President’s visit to Pakistan and the delays in CPEC projects.

Criticising Imran Khan’s plans for November 2 sit-in, Shahbaz said, “Why doesn’t Imran Khan spend the sit-in money on treating the sick or educating the uneducated instead?”

The minister said the public would not let Imran Khan shut down the country. “The people would not allow anything against Pakistan’s interests,” he said.
