Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday sought comments from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) South, SSP Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and SHO Baloch Colony on a petition asking about the whereabouts of a woman who had been missing for the last 10 months.
The SHC, bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto, was hearing the petition filed by Imran Fazal, who had moved the court to trace the whereabouts of his sister, who had left the house in December 2015 and did not return since then.
The petitioner submitted that they had approached all the law enforcement agencies including the Rangers and police but they were clueless about her whereabouts. He added that the family members are going through mental agony due to the disappearance of his sister. She was also contributing financially to the family and during his absence they are living in a miserable condition, he said.
Citing home secretary, Sindh police inspector general Sindh police, Sindh Rangers DG, and others as the respondents, the petitioner requested the court to direct the law enforcement agencies to take the measures for the recovery of his sister.
The court issued notices to the SSP South, SSP AVCC and SHO Baloch Colony, directing them to file their respective replies on November 10.
