A photographic exhibition arranged by Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) depicting the atrocities of the Indian Forces on innocent people of occupied Kashmir was put on display on Wednesday.

Senator Najma Hameed and MNA Tahira Aurangzeb flanked by Naheed Manzoor and RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition. More than two hundred pictures were showcased highlighting the violation of the human rights by the Indian forces.

The day is marked when Indian troops landed in Srinagar on 27th October 1947 and occupied Jammu and Kashmir in total disregard to the patrician plan of the sub-continent and against the Kashmiris’ aspiration.

While expressing her views on the inaugural ceremony, Najma Hameed said that the atrocities of the Indian forces on the innocent people of Jammu-Kashmir are in violation of the human rights and a challenge for the international powers claimant of human rights.

Tahira Aurangzeb said that India’s rigid and unrealistic stance on Kashmir was the main hurdle in peaceful settlement of the conflict. She said prime minister raised the issue of IHK on the very forum. Naheed Manzoor said that United Nation is silent on the issue of these violations.

RAC Waqar Ahmed thanked all the guests and said Pakistan will support Kashmiris till the achievement of their right to self determination.
