India on Tuesday continued to repeat ceasefire violation at the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary in Sialko, according to the ISPR.
“Pakistani troops are befittingly responding to Indian firing,” ISPR said, adding that the heavy exchange of fire continued till the filing of this report.
A civilian, Waqar, died on the Pakistani side of the border after latest firing episode by Indian forces in Chuprar sector.
Resultantly, Pakistan lodged a strong protest with India and the United Nations Military Observers group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) regarding the ‘unprovoked’ firing along the Working Boundary which killed two civilians a day earlier.
Pakistan summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh, while lodging a protest against ceasefire violations along the Working Boundary by Indian Border Forces (BSF), Foreign Office said in a statement.
“It was conveyed to the Indian side that it should investigate the incident and share the findings with Pakistan, instruct its troops to respect the Ceasefire in letter and spirit, refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary,” the statement read.
Two civilians, including a minor girl, were killed and seven others injured as Indian roops resorted to unprovoked firing in Harpal, Pukhlian and Charwah sectors along the working boundary, ISPR said on Monday.
“Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling which was befittingly responded to by Pakistan Rangers Punjab in Harpal, Pukhlian and Charwah sectors on working boundary,” ISPR said. “Intermittent exchange of firing continued throughout night.”
