Goodbye Ayesha Mumtaz?

The news is circulating for a while that Ayesha Mumtaz, an esteemed civil servant, has been finally shown the door. Her work has been astounding and laudable. She broke, to an extent, the deadly nexus between food mafia and corrupt officials. She has given a new hope to the society.

Under these circumstances, the people deserve not to be deprived of such an honest and bold officer. But if she is out for personal reasons, it is absolutely fine.

  1. Not many civil servants are honest, and bold like Ayesha Mumtaz. Individual like her not liked by the corrupt mafia and the administration. It is great loss for the Punjab Food Authority and the people of Pakistan.

  2. Ayesha Mumtaz sin was that she took this issue of substandard food being sold by traders very seriously and in the process angered the politically powerful milk traders some of whom have links with ruling family. Issues of public policy nterest are of least significance for those who indulge n trade and business, where profits matter more than quality of food consumed by public.
