Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) intends to train 15000 students in Chinese language. One year courses in Chinese language are to be launched in 18 different cities of Punjab to meet the demand of skilled Pakistani labour in Chinese industries.
TEVTA’s Chinese language courses are successfully being taught at Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faislabad, Multan, and Rawalpindi. On the demand of youth of other cities, the course is to be launched next month in Gujrat, Sheikhpura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Taxila, Sargodha, Layyah, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and D.G.Khan.
This was stated by Chairperson TEVTA, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, while reviewing the progress of Chinese language course at TEVTA Secretariat here yesterday.
Sheikh said Chinese investors urgently needed Pakistani youth fluent in the Chinese language and that this course would help Pakistani skilled labourers, already in high demand, improve their chances of gaining employment in Chinese industries.
Chairperson TEVTA further said that minimum qualification for admittance to the program was matric.
