Actor Mohib Mirza has turned down the Hum Network’s request to present an award at the show taking place in Karachi on October 28.

Mohib Mirza took to social media to blast organisers (without naming Hum directly) for asking him to present awards without any compensation.

In a blunt post, Mohib said, “Why am I asked repeatedly to present ‘awards’ for free in the name of honour? Do I eat honour for breakfast?’

According to Mohib, when an award show is being sponsored by a big brand, stars should not be expected to take the same brand’s name while hosting when they aren’t being compensated for the promotion.

The actor didn’t shy back at all and also stated that his colleagues would agree to those terms just to feel that they ‘belong’.

Mohib’s post drew support from his peers in the industry, with musician/actor Ali Azmat saying that he also refused to present an award for free. Filmmakers Asad ul Haq and Shahzad Nawaz and fellow actors Sami Khan, Uroosa Siddiqui and Rubya Chaudhry also applauded his take on the matter.
