‘MCI, CDA working to complete ongoing projects on time’

Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) member administration Muhammad Suleman Warraich said the MCI and Capital Development Authority (CDA) are following a comprehensive strategy to complete the ongoing development projects in the federal capital effectively in stipulated time.

He expressed these views while briefing a delegation of participants of 22nd Senior Management Course from National Management College on the eve of their study tour to CDA headquarters on Wednesday.

He said the development work in stalled sectors as well as on other welfare projects for residents of the city would also be initiated.

Suleman Warraich said on the directions of Islamabad Mayor and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz, important development projects had been completed and that the development work on other mega projects would be started soon to meet the future requirements of the city

He told the delegation that the newly-elected representatives of the local government including CDA chairman had formulated a comprehensive strategy under which priority would be given to the requirements, opinions and suggestions of the residents of the city for future planning and development.

He informed that the prime minister fulfilled his pledge and for the first time in the history of Islamabad, a Metropolitan Corporation came into being. Newly-elected local government representatives have been given the responsibility of developing the city, he added. He said to ensure transparency and merit in CDA, the present regime had taken result-oriented measures. Transparency and merit are the major components to bring stability in the institutions, he added.

He said priority was being given to the developing sectors, and added that development work in stalled sectors had also been restarted. Effective monitoring system had been made to ensure timely completion of these development projects, the member administration said.

He informed the delegation that latest technology was being utilised for computerising land record. He said that work on plan for utilising latest technology was being carried out on accelerated pace to introduce automated system at One Window Operation Directorate.
