An Islamic preacher in India’s Kerala state has urged the Muslims to undertake home schooling “so that our children would not deviate from the tenets of Islam.’’

Kozhikode-based preacher, Abdul Muhsin Ayadid, has posted a lengthy speech on “edawa.net <http://edawa.net/>”, a portal for learning Islam.

The remarks come against the backdrop of the row involving Peace International School in Kerala, which offered education in an Islamic environment.

Two weeks back, Kochi police registered a case against the school on charges of promoting communal enmity.

“kafirs” (non-believers) should not be allowed to decide what the Muslim children should be taught,” Ayadid said.

Ayadid, belonging to the Salafi Muslim group, is strongly against mixed education.
