A full 16 months and a media, legal maelstrom later, BOL TV is finally back on air.

As per a tweet by BOL TV’s management, the channel has resumed its transmission on Tuesday at 6 pm.

The resumption follows the Sindh High Court’s order on the 26th of September for the restoration of BOL TV’s broadcasting license.

The channel was initially meant to have been launched back in 2015, but the plan hit some snags after Axact, its parent company, was indicted in an expose about fake degrees in an international daily newspaper.

The Axact scandal surfaced in May last year when The New York Times (NYT) published a report that claimed the company sold fake diplomas and degrees online through hundreds of fictitious schools, making “tens of millions of dollars annually”.

Subsequently the offices of Axact were sealed, its CEO and key officials were arrested and a probe was launched on the basis of the allegations levelled by NYT.
