Ajoka theatre presents ‘Talismati Tota’

Ajoka’s new play titled “Talismati Tota’ will be premiered on Tuesday (today) at Lahore’s Alhamra Hall.

The play is written by Shahid Nadeem, Madeeha Gohar and directed by Nirvaan Nadeem. It is Nirvaan’s  first production as a director.

He has played leading roles in Ajoka plays including “Mera Rang de Basanti Chola” (as Bhagat Singh), Bulha (as bandasingh Beragi) and Dara (as Sufi Sarmad).

 

Talismati Tota (The Magical Parrot) is written in allegorical “dastaan” style and is a story of three princes and a princess in disguise who embark on a journey to the forest of wonder in search of the magical parrot.

The Journey is full of adventures and dangerous encounters with supernatural creatures, thugs, magicians, fairies and demons, witches and a magical parrot who was supposed to be repeating what he was taught but eventually became the master.

Talismati Tota is a story of betrayal, intrigue and mind control, It is allegorical in form but reflects many of our contemporary concerns.

The play has captivating songs and dances and a magical set.
