Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) and Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) on Sunday conducted a joint raid at a house in Liaquatabad area of the metropolis and recovered three girls who had gone missing from Saudabad area on Friday.
Rabia, Bisma and Iqra, aged from 14 to 15 years, student of class 9, had gone missing mysteriously while going to school.
According to CPLC chief, Zubair Habib, the investigation in the case revealed that they were not kidnapped, but they had left home due to a family dispute.
One of the suspects, Aijaz, was apprehended from Liaquatabad No. 10 during the raid at night, who had pointed out the girls presence at the house in the area. The girls were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
Their parents launched a search when they did not return until the evening. They had been insisting that they had dropped the girls to the school. Administration of TCF School Malir said the girls did not reach the school and remained absent on Friday.
The area residents contacted police after the incident. They complained that the police were not cooperating with them in the case. The police later registered an FIR.
After registering an FIR, police had arrested five young boys for allegedly being in connection with the case including a student of class seven. The boys had been constantly denying their involvement in the case.
One of the boys, Muhammad Ali, revealed that one girl told him in a text message that she was fleeing from home since her family used to torture her physically.
Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah had taken notice of the missing case and had ordered the concerned authorities to recover the school girls as soon as possible. Taking notice of the incident, IGP Sindh had summoned report from DIG East Zone.
