Police on Saturday busted a kidney racket and apprehended six suspects involved in the illicit trade in a suburban area of Rawalpindi.
Police conducted a raid in Rawat, a suburban area of Rawalpindi, and rounded up six racketeers, officials said. They also included three doctors and a woman.
The law enforcers also freed 24 captives, including four women, during the raid.
Officials said the members of the gang used to lure poor people and bring them to a private clinic near Rawat, wherein the racketeers would remove their kidneys.
These wrongdoers would trap people by offering them money and bring them from Rawalpindi and other districts.
Meanwhile, the CPO Rawalpindi announced to reward the police team that busted the ring.
