The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) London Coordination Committee Advocate Sathi Ishaq Saturday (today) said that there has been no minus one formula in MQM.
The MQM London Coordination Committee member Sathi Ishaq while talking to the media at Karachi Press Club said that there was no such thing as MQM-Pakistan, adding that the party could not even conceive the idea of a minus-one formula.
Prof Dr Hasan Zafar Arif said that we are holding this conference in response to the ‘minus one’ formula.
Zafar Arif said, there was no such thing like MQM London or Pakistan, it is only one which is headed by Altaf Hussain. It will remain one, he emphasized.
Zafair Arif said that party’s cheif has handed over the accountability to coordination committee in Pakistan.
“Members of a party stand with its founder in hard times…those who have abandoned Altaf Hussain have set an example of betrayal,” he said.
Dr Arif said it wasn’t the first time attempts were made to bring down MQM, adding that the Mustafa Kamal-led Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) also tried to break people away from the party.
He further said that Aamir Khan once again betrayed MQM, adding that, Farooq Sattar, Khalid Maqbool are scared.
“Innocent MQM workers jailed must be freed immediately,” he said.
He further cleared the fact that MQM is registered under the name of Dr Farooq Sattar.
Members changed the party’s constitution and removed MQM cheif’s name from it, he said.
The newly-inducted RC member said all such attempts to damage the party have remained unsuccessful.
Dr Arif said operations were carried out against MQM, its members were arrested, the party’s headquarters were sealed and cases were launched against Altaf Hussain but the party has remained in tact.
He said the party had managed to hold its own even though the National Assembly, the Senate and the Sindh Assembly all stood up against the MQM chief.
He said Altaf Hussain was the lifeblood of MQM and there could be no minus-one formula.

The tug-of-war between two MQMs intensified as the party’s London chapter flexed its muscle today, leaving many to wonder how Farooq Sattar-led faction will react.
Sindh police and Rangers have sealed all roads leading to the press club and doors of press club have been closed after the arrival of the committee members.
Journalists have been asked to show their identity cards amid security threats.
On the other hand, a heavy contingent of Rangers has reached the press club.
Earlier, MQM London announced a 12-member interim Rabita Committee.

We are all familiar with the of detention of Dr. Farooq Sattar in the roughest possible manner after Altaf Hussain's speech, and now issue of non-bailable warrants against him and many others, with Waseem Akhtar already languishing in prison, despite unequivocal condemnation and complete break from Altaf Hussain and his speech. In this background, the opportunity and protection provided to MQM London delegation led by Dr. Hasan Zafar Arif, who pledged allegiance to Altaf Hussain and thereby condoned his speech, seems rather surprising. It does nothing to rebut allegations of all-out attempts by various forces to put Farooq-led MQM out of business.
With all the threats that the country is facing internally, at the borders and beyond, this anti-MQM Pakistan game seems rather crude and amateurish.
