PTI moves apex court for NA-110 rigging case

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) moved the apex court demanding the hearing of the long-pending alleged rigging case of NA-110 Sialkot constituency on a priority basis.

The PTI candidate for the constituency Usman Dar submitted the application in the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday in this regard.

Usman Dar in his application, a copy of which is available with Pakistan Today, demanded of the SC that the case is pending since 2014 before the court, so it is requested to hear the case preferably on October 20, 2016.

The application reads that the election matter is pending for more than two years, yet there is no decision in the case.

It said that Khawaja Asif is a federal minister, who actually lost the polls and is still enjoying his ministerial powers over the last three years, which is against the public interest.

Usman Dar said that the case is of serious nature, yet the case is being adjourned without any progress and the voters of the appellants are losing the hope of justice.

He said that Khawaja Asif was hesitant to face the court after winning the poll through rigging, adding that rigging was quite evident from the detailed report submitted by NADRA some months ago.

“Khawaja Asif should face the truth instead of wasting precious time of the nation by avoiding the court on different pretexts,” he maintained.

PTI leader vowed that he would not allow Khawaja Asif to run away and he would expose his rigging before the nation.

He said that the minister should muster courage and face the court instead of resorting to delaying tactics.
